Marwan ibn Salim Al-Muqaffa narrated: “I saw Abdullah ibn Umar with bread in his hand, he took a handful and cut the rest away. And he related that if the Prophet (saw) broke his fast, he said, "The thirst is gone, the veins have become moist and the reward is fixed by the will of Allah."

Fasting during the month of Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam, but fasting is a highly recommended act of worship even outside of the month of Ramadan.

When the time for Iftar has come, then it is also in order to make this supplication (dua) of the Prophet (pbuh).
